Cohesion Fund Intermediate Body

The Development Directorate of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Water Management participates in the management of the utilization of the supports of the Cohesion Fund aimed at the development of environment protection.

The general tasks of the Intermediate Body are, consequently, the following:

• Providing the sectoral consent to the implementation of the National Cohesion Fund Frame Strategy, providing technical assistance to the preparation of the projects,
• Cooperation in planning the domestic co-financing of the projects,
• Ensuring the due and efficient implementation of the projects supported by the CF, certifying the physical and financial performance, arrangement of the payments and the fund requests;
• The monitoring of the supports provided by the Cohesion Fund.

Water Management and Coordination Division

The Water Management and Coordination Division ensures, among others, the professional background for the investment. It assists in the interpretation of legal rules and, relying on its previous experience and knowledge, helps the implementation of the investment in compliance with legal rules and cooperates with authorities, design firms and other institutions.
