Buda Main Collector (BMC)
Procurement strategy according to FIDIC Yellow Book
The household and industrial wastewaters are let into the Danube without treatment on the Buda side at 16 points of the river, including several wastewater pumping stations and more than seven free flow sewerage pipelines. In certain cases the wastewater is let into the middle of the river, while there are also inlet points on the bank of the river.
The contract concluded in the frame of public procurement procedure includes the following tasks:
The main collector to be built is a gravity based pipe along the embankment of the Danube , with high diameter, increasingly high in the South, which is intended to collect the wastewater which is now let in the Danube : it will forward the wastewater to the Kelenföld pump station. After the commissioning of the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant the wastewater will not be directly let in the Danube without treatment in the Budapest section of the river.
The contractor to be selected will be responsible for obtaining the permit for, the designing and the construction of the main collector of DN 1 200 – 2 400 mm diameter of 6,9 km length, and the modification of the embankment at the section of Margit–bridge.
